When i make rice roti it becomes necessary to have chana dal chutney along with it. I love this chutney since my childhood. My mom would always prepare this thick chutney along with chilka. This is my mothers recipe of how to make chana dal ki chutney.

Ingredients:
- Chana dal- 100 g
- Coconut- 100g , chopped or grated
- Oil- 1tsp
- Salt as per taste
- Green Chilli - 1
- Water
For tempering:
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seed
- Oil- 1 tsp
- Dry red chilies
Preparation:
- Roast the chana dal by adding a Tsp of oil in a pan, once it gets roasted, take them off from the pan and let them cool off.
- In a mixer grinder jar add all the ingredients ,add little water, grind into fine paste.
- Transfer this chutney into a serving bowl.
- Now heat 2 Tsp of oil in a pan, add the mustard seed, curry leaves and red chillies, as soon as the mustard starts spluttering, turn off the heat and pour this whole thing over the chutney .
Your chana dal ki chutney is absolutely ready to be served. Serve it with Chilka, Dosa, Idli, Roti, Rice and enjoy :-)
