This aloo paratha recipe is one of the easiest. Do give it a try. I hope it turns out absolutely delicious for you.

This recipe Serves- 10 parathas
Preparation time- 10 minutes
Cooking time- 20 minutes
Level of difficulty- Medium

  • Chapati dough- (Knead dough by taking 2 cups of atta{whole wheat flour} and adding 1/2 cup of water or more, resulting dough must be smooth soft dough which isn't sticky)
  • Potato- 4 medium size(boiled, peeled and grated)
  • Red chilli flakes - 1 Tsp
  • Ginger- 1 Tbsp, grated
  • Green chilly- 2, finely chopped
  • Chat masala - 1 Tsp
  • Ajwain seeds or carom seeds- 1 Tsp
  • Fine crushed Pepper
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil for greasing

  • Bring together grated potato, red chilli flakes, onion, ginger, salt, chaat masala ,green chillies and carom seeds. Mix well.
  • Now prepare logs out of the dough. Cut them into 1.5 inch balls. Dust these balls with flour and then stuff them with the potato mixture. Close the stuffing and finally roll it into flat round chapati shape.
  • Heat a tawa or pan, in between medium to high heat. Once the tawa is hot, place the flattened paratha on the tawa, wait until the bottom side of the paratha has little brown spots. Flip onto other side and again wait until it is hit by brown spot and the co lour of the paratha appears to be white throughout with little brown spots on both the sides. Now grease this with ghee or butter , flip on both side and then take it off the tawa or pan.
  • Repeat this process until you have desired number of parathas...

Enjoy !
Happy cooking :-)
