This is another lovely recipe. This has been shared to me by my mother. Its an awesome fragrant sweet basmati rice recipe. This can be served along with chana dal or Dal kaadu or any curry of your choice. It tastes great and i totally adore it.

Ingredients:
- Basmati Rice- 1.5 cup
- Cloves- 4
- Cardamom- 4 pods
- Cinnamon stick- 1
- Bay leaf- 1
- Black pepper cons- 5 to 6
- Saffron-2 to 3 strands and milk-1Tbsp
- Sultana/Raisins- 1/4 cup
- Cashew nuts- 1/4 cup
Sugar syrup:
- Water- 1/2 cup
- Sugar- 4 Tbsp
Direction:
- Soak basmati rice in water for 5 minutes.
- Bring a pot of water to boil. Add the whole spices and let this completely come to boil.
- Add the basmati rice to the boiling water and let it cook until is 3/4th cooked. Drain the water once it gets cooked to 3/4th. Let the rice remain in the cooking vessel along with the whole spices.
- Sugar syrup preparation: place water and sugar in a pan and turn on the heat. stir until the sugar gets dissolve completely. Turn off the heat.
- Now add this sugar syrup to the rice.
- Add the raisins or sultana and the cashewnuts.
- Mix saffron and milk, add this on the top of rice.
- Now cover the pan with a tight lid and let this cook in low flame for next 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes turn off the heat and let this rest for next 5 minutes.
Serve hot with any Curry of your choice. Dal currys will be more apt with this flavoured rice.

Its lovely and very inviting. Because my other half is diabetic, I am thinking of omitting the sugar and reducing the amount of raisins. I suppose it will still be fabulous as what you have made.
