German Cheese Cake(Kase kuchen)

This time i baked the famous and most loved German cheese cake. The outcome was super. A super velvet and moist texture . I layered it with mango mousse and the result was just amazing.
Now i know why people of Germany are so crazy about the cheese cake.
Without a furtherdo, lets get on to the recipe.

German cheese cake

Ingredients(For cake):

  • Quark or Hung Curd - 500g
  • Eggs- 3
  • Vanilla essence- 1 Tsp or Vanilla sugar- 1 TSP
  • Sugar - 1cup or 125g
  • Vegetable Oil - 100 ml or butter- 100g
  • Corn starch - 50 go
  • Baking powder- 1/2 Tbsp
  • Rawa or Gries or Semolina- 1 Tbsp
  • Whip together butter/oil and sugar. Slowly incorporate eggs.
  • Proceed by adding vanilla essence and baking powder.
  • Finally add the quark. Whip in well.
On the other side preheat the oven at 170C. Grease a baking tray 23*6 cm with butter. On the top of butter sprinkle semolina. such that the semolina coats the baking tray.
Now pour the cake batter over the tin and bake it for 1hour. For me it took 1 hour 15 minutes.

After 1 hour do a toothpick test by inserting a toothpick at the center of the cake, if it comes out clean it is done.Take it out from the oven and let it sit in the tray until it cools down.
If you want to layer it with mango mousse let it stay in the baking tin.
