Aloo Chat

Last month it was my Son's birthday and as a starter i prepared Aloo chat for our guest. It was a hit for the day and my guests thoroughly enjoyed this food.

Let me give you a bit of more insight about aloo chat . Aloo chat is the most enjoyed street food of India. Made with potatoes, bit of chick peas and then dazzled with yogurt ,few chutneys and fried Bhujiyas. This food has got the capacity to water your mouth with just a mere look at it (Only if you know how good it tastes).

So without much a do, i will introduce the recipe of this aloo chat,

This
serves- 4 plates of aloo chat
Level of difficulty- medium

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes- 8 medium size, boiled
  • Chick peas- 250g, boiled
  • Yogurt
  • Green chutney
  • Sweet dates and tamarind chutney
  • Aloo Bhujiya
  • Salt as per taste
  • Roasted and then powdered cumin seed
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chopped onion
  • Pomegrante seeds(optional)
  • Chaat masala powder

Potato marinade

  • cumin powder- 1 Tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 Tsp
  • Salt
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves- chopped
  • Garam masala powder- 1 Tsp
  • Besan/chick pea flour- 1 tsp

Direction:
Potato preparation---
Cut into quarter the potatoes and Marinade with the given ingredients. Leave aside for 5 minutes.
Heat a non-stick pan in medium heat. Drizzle oil add the marinade potato, fry until all the potaoes have slight golden crust all over. Once done take out.

Assembling:
Place the potato on the platter, now sprinkle a Tbsp of boiled chick peas. Add a tbsp of yogurt. Now add the green chutney and sweet chutney, add 1 Tsp of yogurt over. Sprinkle salt, chaat masala powder. Top with some freshly cut red onions , coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds and Aloo bhujiyas.

Serve......
This will take you to the heaven of taste.....
