Apple Cake

First time i came to Germany, i tried the apple cake. I was so impressed by this dish that i often enjoy it at my favorite bakery. But this time i decided to prepare one by myself. I find this recipe extremely easy and tasty. Would love to share it with you all.
My son with his rapidly developing taste buds is showing a lot of interest with cakes. It took him seconds to finish this cake.

An Apple a day keeps the doctor away, so try this recipe and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This recipe yields - Apple cake of  1.5 lb
Preparation time- 15 minutes
Cooking time- 23 minutes
Total time- 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Apple peeled and diced- 2 large size (Preferably green apple, or more of the raw ones)
  • All purpose flour- 1.5 cup{shift the flour before you use it in the batter}
  • Eggs- 2
  •  Vanilla essence- 1 Tsp
  • Oil- 1/2 cup
  • sugar- 1 cup
  • Cinnamon powder- 1 Tsp
  • Baking powder- 1 Tsp
  • Baking soda- 1 Tsp
  • Salt- 1 Tsp
  • Nuts of your choice.

Direction:
  • Preheat the oven at 180 Degree C for 10 minutes. By the time you can prepare your batter.
  • Using a hand mixer/ stand mixer or a whisk beat oil and egg together. Once you see pale yellow texture add the sugar and vanilla essence ,beat until it turns slightly creamy.
  • Now add the shifted flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder. Beat until everything gets incorporated well.
  • Finally add the diced apples and fold in the batter.
  • Grease the baking tray with butter. Fill the baking tray until its only 1 inch filled with batter. Place the remaining batter to another baking tray.
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake at 160 Degree C for 20 to 25 minutes or until your toothpick comes out clean from the center.
Once the cake is done. Take it out on a cooling rack and allow it to cool completely. Once it cools you can cover this with your favorite icing or have it without icing. It tastes great both ways. I love this apple cake , i am sure you will like it too.
Enjoy and Happy cooking...........
