What if you get something very tasty dish right on the weekend morning. Something that can prepared just in minutes. This is wheat and rice flour chilla . I found this recipe in one of my fellow bloggers site"Tickling Palates". I tried this recipe and i must say i am impressed with this.
To accompany this i prepared coconut and peanut chutney which was a perfect side dish for this chilla.
This recipe
serves: 15 medium size chilla
preparation time- 5 minutes
cooking time- 1 minutes for each chilla.
Ingredients for chilla:
- Wheat flour- 2 cup
- Rice flour- 1 cup
- Onion- 1, finely chopped
- Green chilly- 2, finely chopped
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for greasing
Directions:
- bring together all the ingredients and mix well. Add water and prepare a thin batter.
- Heat a pan or tawa. Add 1 tsp of oil . Now pour 1 ladle of the batter on the pan.
- Cover the pan for 30 seconds. now flip it on to other side. Cover and let it cook for another 30 seconds until some brown spots hit both the sides and then the chilla turns crispy.
- Repeat this process unless you receive required amount of chilla.
Ingredients for Chutney:
- Peanuts- handful
- Coconut- 1 cup grated or the dry coconut
- Green chilly- 1
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for tempering
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Directions:
- Roast coconut and peanuts separately. Let it cool off.
- Place them in the grinding jar, along with salt and green chilly.
- Grind to fine paste. Take out in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seed and the curry leaves. Once it starts spluttering, pour this tempering to the chutney.
- Mix well and serve.
