Creamy Chicken and Mushroom pasta

My kid loves chicken dishes. Last night i decided to prepare something that's not spicy yet tasty and delicious . I have been preparing bechamel sauce  for quite a long time. So i decided using the same sauce for the chicken and mushroom. The dish came out really good and both my hubby and my son enjoyed it to the fullest. I would love to share this quick and tasty chicken recipe with you all.

Creamy chicken and mushroom pasta



 Serves- 4
Preparation time- 10 minutes
Cooking time- 20 minutes
Total time- 30 minutes
Level of difficulty - Easy

Ingredients:

  • Boneless chicken- cut into bite size pieces
  • onion- 1, chopped thinly
  • Garlic - 1 Tbsp, minced
  • Ginger- 1 Tbsp, minced
  • Mushroom- 6 large size, chopped into bite size
  • pepper - freshly crushed
  • Salt as per taste
  • Boiled Penne pasta or any pasta of your choice - 250 g (al dante)
  • Olive oil- 2 Tbsp
For the bechamal sauce.
  • Butter- 1 Tbsp
  • All purpose flour- 1 Tbsp
  • Milk- 200 ml
  • Paprika or chilli flakes
  • Pepper freshly crushed
  • Oregano
  • Cheese of your choice
Preparation:

  • Take olive oil in a pan add the ginger and garlic and then heat it over medium to high flame.
  • Once the garlic turns little tender add the onion and saute until they turn translucent.
  • Add the chicken and fry until chicken is done. 
  • Add the mushroom , stir once cover and cook for 2 minute.
  • After 2 minute, season with salt and pepper. Stir for 5 more minute and then turn off the heat.
  • Chicken and mushroom are ready by now.
  • Take them out in a separate plate. 
  • In the same pan add 1 Tbsp of oil and just stir the pasta and take it out. In this way all the pasta will absorb the chicken and mushroom juice , thereby adding flavor to your bites.
Bechamal sauce preparation:
  • Heat the butter in the same pan.
  • Add the all purpose flour and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add the paprika and pepper.
  • Add the milk and let this come to boil.
  • Now add the cheese and in low flame stir until the sauce thickens.
  • Finally add oregano and salt. turn off the heat .
  • Add all the chicken and mushroom to this sauce . Stir well.
Serve the pasta on the plate and on the top of it place the creamy chicken and mushroom.
Serve hot and enjoy :-)

  1. Like your version of sauce. I think it will be great for salads too. We do enjoy a meal of pasta from time to time and will love to try the creamy combo for the weekend.
